Where to take an African SafariThe stunning beauty of Africa is matched only by its extreme diversity. Each safari country is so very different that it is vital to research the characteristics of each before perfecting your itinerary.
Kenya and Tanzania's Indian Ocean coastline and islands make them superb destinations for a classic 'safari and beach' holiday. Zimbabwe and Zambia are better suited to the safari connoisseur, with untouched parks and areas of true wilderness guaranteed. Botswana has the continent's most expensive, exclusive and ultimately most luxurious lodges, and Namibia's dramatic scenery makes it a unique destination in its own right.
Use our website to research your ideas, or better still, arrange a time to talk to us by phone. Below is a quick overview of the countries, click on the link for detailed information about safaris in each country, videos, lodges reviews, slideshows, etc.
Home to the Serengeti, Kilimanjaro, and Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania is probably Africa’s most famous safari destination, and even the lesser known parks of Selous and Ruaha provide exceptional safaris. It is also the easiest country to combine a safari with a Zanzibar beach.
| | Safaris in Botswana are easily the most exclusive and expensive in Africa. Private reserves in the world famous Okavango Delta and Moremi have exceptional game viewing, the broadest range of activities, and some of the highest standards of safari accommodation in Africa.
| | Kenya was the original safari market and still suffers from its mass market approach to tourism. However, there are still many great unspoilt destinations. Kenya’s safari and beach combinations are easy and affordable and the Masai Mara is one of Africa's most iconic parks.

Namibia has some of the most dramatic scenery in Africa, and this is its focus. Sossusvlei and the Skeleton Coast are outstanding locations with unbelievable scenery, but the wildlife safaris in Etosha are not as impressive as those in neighbouring countries.
| | Zambia has long been regarded as the country for real safari enthusiasts and second timers, but today Zambia caters for all clients. The undisputed home of the walking safari, owner run camps, and incredible levels of guiding. However its season is short - May until October.
| | Zimbabwe has been through hell, but it still has some outstanding camps and safari lodges. This struggle has resulted in excellent value safaris, and we are seeing the country slowly regain its status as one of Africa’s best game viewing destinations.

What type of African Safari?
There are many different types of safari, and there are safaris to suit all tastes and all ages. Tanzania's Northern Circuit and most of Kenya's National Parks offer some of the best vehicle-based safaris, whereas Botswana and parts of Zimbabwe and Zambia are the places to go for canoe and boating safaris. Zambia and southern Tanzania are great destinations for serious walking safaris, and Namibia is the place to go for the continent's best flying safaris.
