Our favourite African Safari and Indian Ocean Island recommendations...

Tanzania Safari

Tanzania is one of Africa's most famous destinations, home to world famous parks such as the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, and many less visited parks such as Selous and Ruaha. It is also blessed with hundreds of miles of Indian Ocean Coastline and islands

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is spectacular, opulent, rich and wonderfully quirky. With an unparalelled location on the Crater rim, this flagship &Beyond property sets out to blur the boundaries between reality and dream.

Okavango Delta

Safaris in the Okavango delta of Botswana are reliably fantastic, a beautiful delta with unique scenery the game in the delta is varied and plentiful. Safaris in Botswana are not cheap though ! .

Mombo is Africa's most expensive safari lodge, but the price-tag is matched by the sheer quality of it's game viewing. Big concentrations of cats and just about everything else

Tanzania has some of the largest herds on the planet and the highest concentrations of predators in Africa, the world's largest volcanic caldera at Ngorongoro, Africa's highest mountain, the endless plains of the Serengeti, the Masai, Zanzibar...the list can go on.

There are a few camps in Africa that have everything just right....Chiawa is without doubt one of these, regarded by us as one of the top lodges anywhere. The guiding is phenomenal, the location is perfect and this place is run by the family who are the main reason for the Lower Zambezi's success as a National Park.

Some of Africa's finest walking safaris are based in Zambia, where it all started. Superb small, and often owner run and managed camps with some of the best guiding on the continent
Mnemba Island lodge

Mnemba is located just off the North East Coast of Zanzibar and is a tiny dream island with the impressive accolade of being one of the most romantic and exclusive coral atoll islands in the world.

Home of the safari and beach 'package holiday' Kenya is widely recognised in the industry for poor game viewing simply due to the sheer volume of tourists that seem impossible to avoid. But design your holiday well, and there are holidays to be taken in Kenya that can compete with virtually anywhere.

Zanzibar Beaches

With miles of palm-fringed shores, powder soft coral sands and gin-clear seas, Zanzibar lives up to the Indian Ocean island idyll. The atmosphere is compounded by a colourful Swahili culture where traditional wooden dhows sail beneath billowing lanteen sails on each far horizon. A great location for exploring, diving and snorkelling and with a wide range of accommodation options to suit all budgets.

Ras Kutani

Quiet, away from it, all but with fabulous rooms, great food and friendly unpretentious service. This is the best value beach accommodation and one of the most beautiful small lodges to be found anywhere in Tanzania.

Ras Nungwi
One of our favourite hotels on Zanzibar and one of the best along the East African coast. The beach here is the best on Zanzibar and unlike much of the east coast, is free of hawkers and general hustlers. Nungwi village just down the coast is a great place to go out and have a few drinks or a bite of lunch.
