Stunning, Superb, Awesome. The superlatives are barely adequate to describe our Nile River Cruise on board the MS Da Vinci, 28th Jan 08. Everything about the holiday, from our arrival at Luxor, to the reluctant wave goodbye to friends we made during the cruise, was handled with such effortless efficiency by the compelling tour leader, Mohammed Saiid, that I was left believing that he must be someone very special indeed.

This young man whose charm and charismatic personality was in itself one of the highlights of the tour, seemingly needed no sleep, being always available night and day to guide us onto and welcome us, his, ‘family’, back from every one of the excursions and to assist in any way he could.

Not to be outdone, our Egyptologist, Ahmed, whose passion for the culture and antiquities of ancient Egypt was evident on every excursion, was a wonderful young man who in a very short time became not only our trusted guide, but hopefully a valued friend who won the hearts of all his ‘Angels’.

As for The Da Vinci herself, the sweeping marble staircase with its opulent golden trim led upwards through incense laden air on to decks that oozed quality from every corner. The beautiful dining area where food fit for a king was served by the attentive and always smiling, Waleed. The bar, lounge and upper deck where drinks could be taken whilst watching with open mouthed disbelief at the sight of the mighty Nile River as it slid slowly by with such serene calmness, hiding its history and offering glimpses of the lives of those for whom the River was their life.

We could never have believed that such an experience was possible until we lived it through the efforts of everyone on the ship, everyone behind the scenes and to the African Safari Club who made possible the holiday of a lifetime for my wife and I. Thank you all and we will be back.
We have just come back from a week’s cruise on the Nile on the Da Vinci - 4 to 11 Feb. We had an absolutely superb holiday, made some super friends and cannot wait to go again. Mohammed, our rep, was superb and his arrangements were second to non. Ayman our Egyptologist gude was “fantastic”, he spoke with such a passion and knew his “stuff”, he was a pleasure to be around. The Da Vinci was superb, staff excellent. As one letter said “the towel art” was a lovely surprise every day. Cannot recommend this cruise enough - if you love history and especially ancient Egypt, you will love this holiday.
We are delighted to say that the trip exceeded our expectations. The week spent on the M.S Da Vinci was superb in every way, the cabins, food, service, guides, trips and general organisation were perfect. We would like to make a special mention of the chef who organised special vegetarian food for us at each meal. We thought that we were in a dream world.

The week in the Mercure Hotel was also most enjoyable, especially with the choice of restaurants. The trips organised here were also of very good value. Everyone should book the Balloon Trip!
We have just returned from a week on board the M.S. Da Vinci (11th to 18th February). It is very difficult to put into words just how fantastic the trip was. The only thing we can fault is that it was over too soon!

The crew were excellent, always there to help, and very innovative in their towel sculptures! The tour leader Mohammed was exceptional, organising everything to perfection, his friendliness really did make everyone on board feel like “family”. And the Egyptologists who were our guides for the week were first class, their knowledge, passion and humour brought all the history to life (Thank you Waleed, Ramees, and Ahmed).

All the tours were incredibly well thought out. The temples were breath-taking to look at, and listening to our guides insight into ancient Egyptian culture and legends, made each trip an even more memorable experience. And as for evening entertainment the Egyptian fancy dress night on board the boat should not be missed. We cannot remember a night where we laughed quite as much.

If anyone is considering booking a holiday in Egypt, my advice is to become one of the “family” on the M.S. Da Vinci, you just won’t beat it. We have recommended this holiday to all of our family and friends. But for ourselves the only way we can ever match this holiday of a lifetime is to come back. Have just arrived back to the cold after one amazing holiday (10th - 17th March). Can I say how amazing the tour was on the M.S. Da Vinci. The excursions, which were absolutely breathtaking, were further highlighted by our fantastic tour guide, Hesham or “H”. You felt totaly privaledged to be one of his “pharoahs”, and was always treated as “family”!! The ship itself was clean and beautiful, with hilarious towel sculptures on your bed and superb scupltures in the dinning room. The barman were hilarious, having been sold to one of them for 400 camels!!!!! Thanks to Mohammed, Hesham, Rania and Leena for their knowledge and passion, and all the staff for their happy dispositions and efficiency. I do not normally complete holiday questionnaires but was compelled to do so this time. I am nearly 64, female and unexpectedly was travelling alone as my partner was not well enough to accompany me. A Nile Cruise has been a life time dream and although apprehensive, I did venture on the holiday alone.

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE
The magic of Egypt itself, which far exceeded my expectations, was complemented perfectly by the service aboard M.S. Da Vinci. Mohammed Saiid, the Tour Leader, was helpful and patient. Ahmed and other guides were knowledgeable and imported this knowledge in an easily understood manner, injected with a sense of humour. All the ancillary staff on board were equally friendly and helpful. I only regret that I was unable to share my experience with my partner but hope to return soon to share the wonder of Egypt with him. We have just returned from a week on board the M.S.Da Vinci, 10th to 17th March. Having read the previous reviews it is difficult not to repeat what others have said. Fabulous, excellent, wonderful, incredible and exceptional and I would just endorse each one.
Anyone considering booking with African Safari Club can be assurred of a holiday well organised and an excellent efficient team of staff out in Egypt who go the extra mile to ensure all their guests, or to repeat others "family" have a wonderful safe holiday and come home with memories which will last a lifetime.
And if I may a final message to Hesham (or big "H") from "mother" I really, really did listen and learnt alot about Egypt and thank you very much. Just returned (17-24 March) from a wonderful trip aboard the MS Da Vinci. “H” our guide was remarkable in his knowledge and passion for Egypt. Mohammed was as attentive as a “Family” member. The ship, every member of staff, trips, transport and food were brilliant. The towel models made us laugh. We seemed to have had a whole ship of lovely people to enjoy the holiday with. I was very impressed with MS Da Vinci in every way. Thank you all for a fabulous holiday.
