HEALTH
At the time of going to press there are no compulsory inoculation or vaccination requirements for entry into Egypt. However, your GP will be able to tell you which vaccinations are currently recommended by the Department of Health and you should consult your doctor at least 8 weeks before departure. Whilst we understand malaria is not prevalent in Egypt, we strongly recommend that you consult your GP or pharmacist for further advice.

For more information on immunisations for your journey call MASTA on: 0870 606 2782 or check their website www.masta.org.

If you have any existing health problem or disability, please ensure that you advise African Safari Club and your travel insurers before you travel.

PREGNANCY
Airlines may refuse permission for women to fly who will be 28 weeks or more pregnant on the date of the return travel. From 28 weeks, expectant mothers should carry a medical certificate confirming the stage of pregnancy for the return flight and confirming fitness to fly. They should also check their insurance policy for any restrictions. Failure to comply with airline regulations may result in cancellation and denial of boarding and we cannot be held responsible for any such occurrence.

DVT – ‘ECONOMY CLASS SYNDROME’
There has been concern and publicity about Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) suffered by some passengers, especially on long haul flights. If you have any concerns about this, we recommend that you contact your GP for advice.

HOLIDAY INSURANCE
It is essential when travelling abroad that you have adequate insurance cover, and we recommend that this is arranged at the time of booking.

If you have bought Travel Insurance through African Safari Club, you will have already received a copy of the policy. Please read this carefully to ensure that it adequately covers your needs and take it on holiday with you as it contains the Emergency Assistance number. Please note that our policy does not automatically cover you for scuba diving and certain other activities. Additional cover is available on request.

In the event that you need to make a claim, please contact Matthew Gerard Travel Insurance Services Ltd direct within the time specified on the policy, or should you have to cancel your holiday, contact African Safari Club or your Travel Agent immediately. If the claim involves a loss or theft it will need to be accompanied by an official report from your African Safari Club Representative at your hotel, your Tour Guide on board M.S. Da Vinci, or the local police. If your luggage is lost or damaged in transit, a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) Form must be completed before leaving the airport (see ‘Lost or Damaged Luggage’).

If you have made other insurance arrangements please make sure that the cancellation element of the policy covers the full cost of your holiday as well as sufficient cover for baggage, personal effects, medical expenses and any activities in which you are likely to take part.

Should it be necessary to make a claim through this, or any other insurance policy, African Safari Club cannot be held responsible for any excess on your insurance policy.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
We will send you your travel documents about 14 days before departure. These will include your cruise and hotel vouchers, if applicable, and an itinerary showing your flight departure and arrival times. Please check them carefully and contact us immediately if you have any queries.

The name shown on your itinerary must be in the same name as your passport. If you are getting married and your ticket is in your maiden name, it is essential that you carry your marriage certificate with you.
