Itinerary
This is an opportunity to spend 3 nights in the amazing Masai Mara, an extension of Tanzania's vast Serengeti. An experience not to be missed.
Day 1: In the morning you begin your safari with a two hour flight to the Masai Mara, hopefully getting a glimpse of majestic Mount Kilimanjaro en route. On arrival, you are taken to the Mara Buffalo Camp, which is situated on the banks of the Mara River, for a three night stay. After an introductory talk, you will have time to settle into camp before lunch is served. Your first game drive will take place in the afternoon. You have time to relax in your Banda and perhaps have a 'sundowner' at the bar with new-found friends before having dinner.
Days 2-3: Enjoy two full days in this spectacular reserve with various game drives included. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the bush on one day and you will return to camp for lunch on the other day. Named after the Masai people who live in the area and the Mara River which divides the reserve, 'the Mara' is renowned for its wonderful scenery, exceptional population of game and a wide variety of bird life. Its gently rolling hills and grasslands ensure that the animals are virtually never out of sight. Keep a look out for the distinctive Masai giraffe, elephant, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, Thomson's gazelle, baboon, lion, cheetah and leopard, to name but a few! In addition, some 50 species of birds of prey have been recorded in the area. Return to the camp each day in time for dinner.
Day 4: Enjoy a traditional early morning game drive at sunrise. Return to the camp for breakfast. Make the most of your last game drive before returning to the camp for a farewell lunch. Transfer to the airstrip for your return flight to Mombasa, arriving at your hotel late afternoon.
(Park entrance fees are not included: US$180 - approximately £110 per person, payable locally).
