Three bars offer a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, which will be charged to your account. We are pleased to cater for private parties which can be held in the Marco Polo lounge. Contact the Purser’s office for more information. Passengers are asked not to consume their own wines or spirits on deck or in the public rooms.
Hairdressing & Beauty SalonLocated on the Riviera Deck, our Beauty Salon for both men and women offers a range of services including hairdressing, facials, manicure, pedicure and massage. Prices are similar to those of high standard city salons. To avoid disappointment please make your appointments in advance.
Swimming PoolThe swimming pool is located on the Promenade Deck. For your own safety, you are asked not to jump or dive into the pool. Parents should not allow their children to play unsupervised near the pool. The pool cannot be used whilst the ship is in dock.
Sports & GamesSports equipment is stored on the Sun Deck. The Tourist Office has playing cards, backgammon and other games.
ShoppingThe Boutique on the Promenade Deck stocks a selection of souvenirs, gifts, jewellery, clothing and duty free items. Purchases may be charged to your on board account.
Medical CentreOur Medical Centre is located on the Pacific Deck and is staffed by an experienced European doctor. Moderate fees are charged for consultation, seasickness remedies or for the prescription of medication.
PostPostcards and stamps are on sale at the Purser’s office. Please note that the postal service from some islands can be slow, and African Safari Club cannot take responsibility for delivery.
CommunicationSatellite communication facilities make it possible to send and receive telephone calls or faxes while at sea. Passengers will not have access to computers whilst on board but it is possible to arrange for urgent emails or faxes to be sent for a charge. Please contact our Radio Office on the Sun Deck if you wish to use these facilities. Please note, however, that telephoning via satellite is costly and you should check the price with the Radio Officer beforehand.

M.S. Royal Star has its own photographer on board to capture all important events on film. The Photo Gallery on the Promenade Deck displays the photos taken and will accept orders. Our photographer will be pleased to make an appointment with you if you wish to have special souvenir photos taken.
LiftOne small lift serves all decks except the Caribbean Deck.
Sun Beds and TowelsSun beds and pool towels are always available free of charge from the deck steward. Sun beds cannot be reserved and if one is found occupied by personal belongings for longer than 20 minutes, these items will be handed to lost and found. Please do not take pool towels back to your cabin. If you take the pool towels ashore, please make sure they are returned.
Laundry ServiceThe ships laundry is available for washing and ironing personal garments and you will find a price list in your cabin. We regret that we have no drycleaning facilities.
On-board AccountAfter embarkation, a shipboard account is automatically opened and credit facilities are available to you for the duration of the cruise. You may then sign for drinks at the bar or in the restaurant, for shore excursions, beauty salon services or items purchased in the boutique.
Your bill must be settled on the day prior to disembarkation and purchases thereafter can only be paid for in cash. To avoid waiting in a queue to settle your account, you can register your credit card at the Purser’s Office at the beginning of the cruise and a customer copy of the credit card voucher will then be sent to your cabin along with an itemised statement.
In settlement of your account we will accept cash, travellers cheques or American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Diners credit cards. There is no charge for cashing Euros or US Dollar travellers cheques on board.
GratuitiesGratuities are a traditional way of saying thank you for services provided on board and the amount is entirely at your discretion. The following is a guideline for the high standard of services we know you will receive:
Dining room waiter:US $2 per passenger per day
Cabin steward: US $2 per passenger per day
Head waiter: US $1 per passenger per day
Maitre d’ Hotel: US $1 per passenger per day
