We are working with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office to help ensure that British travellers are well prepared and stay overseas. As part of our commitment to the ‘Know Before you Go’ campaign and to our customers, we will endeavour to provide you with as much information and advice as possible before you travel.

The FCO’s consular service is a major operation. Every hour of every day consular staff around the world are helping British nationals. It is one of the most important parts of the Government’s foreign policy. During the 2003-04 financial year 1,800 Consular staff helped over 87,000 British Travellers and issued over 455,000 passports.
