Safety On Board

Safety information to help you enjoy your holiday whilst onboard the M.S Royal Star cruising the paradise isles of the Indian Ocean.

Safety On Board

M.S. Royal Star meets the most stringent safety regulations and the crew undertake strict safety drills each week. However, a safe and relaxing cruise also depends on the co-operation of our passengers and we therefore request that you read the following information very carefully.

Lifeboat Drill

It is compulsory for all passengers aboard M.S. Royal Star to attend the lifeboat drill. It will be announced via the public address system soon after embarkation. Only disabled passengers may use the lift during lifeboat drill.

Life Jackets

Your life jacket is kept in a wardrobe in each cabin and must be left there so that it is readily available in case of emergency. Instructions for use are posted on the back of your cabin door. Life jackets must be worn during the lifeboat drill and returned after use. Please tell your steward if you need a child’s life jacket.

Fire Precautions

M.S. Royal Star is equipped to the latest fire standards of SOLAS 83/83 Safety of Life at Sea. Should you detect smoke or fire please alert the navigation bridge immediately or the first crew member you see. There are fire doors throughout the ship, controlled from the bridge.

Cabin Security

All cabins can be locked and you should always keep your keys with you. Please be especially vigilant when the ship lies at anchor or in a port. We advise you to leave all valuables in the safe in your cabin.

Children’s Safety

Never allow children to run or play without supervision and exercise special care near the swimming pool. Ensure that they never tamper with, or remove, any safety equipment.

Watch Your Step

Please be careful when entering your cabin or passing through doorways (including the lift) as there are often raised thresholds which must be stepped over. After rain and around the pool when the decks are wet they may be slippery, please be especially careful. Flat, rubber soled shoes are recommended on deck.
