The Palm Beach Hotel is set in 50 acres of magnificent grounds, and forms part of the Shanzu Holiday Resort which also includes the Shanzu-Paradise Beach Hotel and Coral Beach Hotel. You can walk through well-tended tropical grounds, past inviting swimming pools and sun terraces and admire the view of the Indian Ocean or take a walk down the steps to the white-sand beach, which is in front of the adjacent Shanzu-Paradise Beach Hotel, before relaxing on a sun bed with a refreshing drink.

The bedrooms have been recently renovated and refurbished and can be booked with or without air-conditioning and all have mosquito nets.
Comprising several 2 and 3 storey buildings, this hotel has 128 rooms which are situated around the swimming pools, gardens and large sun bathing terraces.
The bedrooms are simply furnished with twin beds, air conditioning or ceiling fan, a mosquito net, a private shower and wc, a balcony or patio with table and chairs and all overlook the gardens or swimming pools. There is a 13-amp power point and a safe, for which a small charge is made. Please note that there are no lifts.
The Palm Tree Restaurant boasts a quiet, tranquil setting, overlooking one of the resorts swimming pools. A hot and cold breakfast is served buffet style. Lunch and dinner are part buffet and part waiter service from a table d’hote menu. A complimentary glass of local wine, beer or water is included at lunch and dinner.
Should you prefer a change of scene, you can also dine at any of the main restaurants within the Shanzu Holiday Resort, at no additional cost (with the exception of Le Gourmet à la carte restaurant). Advance booking is required.
Drinks and snacks can be purchased at the cafeteria throughout the day until early evening.
There are four swimming pools with large sun bathing terraces and ample grounds in which to relax on a sun bed, for which a small charge is made (approximately £1 per person per day). Please note that pool towels are not provided.
During most days, there will be organised games for you to participate in such as water polo, aqua aerobics, football and volleyball matches.
Tennis and table tennis are also available, for a small charge.
There are three bars and on most evenings there will be entertainment within the Shanzu Holiday Resort or at least at one of the other ASC hotels on Shanzu Beach. Guests are free to use all facilities at the hotels in the Shanzu Holiday Resort.
You can browse around the Shanzu Holiday Market which has a selection of shops and a Bazaar offering a wide selection of local crafts. For your peace of mind, you will also find a doctors surgery. A cafeteria also offers cold drinks and ice creams at reasonable prices. The Show Palace provides occasional evening entertainment. For those who like a flutter, a visit to the Twin Star Casino would not go amiss, while the adjacent Lion King Club features regular music and dancing.
ExcursionsA programme of exciting optional daytime and evening excursions is available during your stay at the Coral-Palm Beach Hotels. Spend the day at sea staying watchful for dolphins and turtles. A half day tour visits the old port of Mombasa where trade ships once sailed between Arabia, Persia and India. Enjoy an evening discovering the stunning sunsets of Mtwapa Creek and the tribal dances of the Masai warriors. Prices of excursions start from just £9 per person and are only bookable locally. Diving HolidaysKenya offers some of the best diving in the world with a coral reef that extends almost the entire length of the coast with a wide variety of marine flora and fauna. Diving is available offering excellent facilities for both the beginner and more experienced diver at Mtwapa Marina. From October to mid April, PADI courses are available, as well as CMAS beginner courses. These are only bookable locally.
