PHOTOGRAPHY
Photographs should never be taken of military installations, police stations, prisons, airports, soldiers, police or the President. Always request permission before photographing local people, particularly the Maasai and Samburu. They may ask a small fee for the privilege of taking their picture and your safari guide or Tour Leader will be happy to assist you with the negotiations.
SAFARIS
Safaris often involve travel of long distances over rough ground and may not be suitable for those with certain medical conditions. If in doubt please contact us for advice. Please note we do not allow children under the age of six to participate in our safaris. At certain stop off points during safaris, standards may be considerably lower than you would expect at our hotels and lodges. We also advise you to take plenty of bottled water with you on each game drive.
Whilst on safari, for your own safety, please observe the instructions of your driver/guide at all times. Under no circumstances should you wander away from designated picnic areas, your safari vehicle or lodge/camp.
Please note that electricity and water supplies at safari lodges/camps can often be interrupted and occasionally cut completely at night. Most of the lodges/camps have their own power supply but a European two pin adaptor may be necessary.
Park entrance fees are payable locally and must be paid at the Cashier’s Office prior to your safari.
SOUVENIRS
The exportation of ivory, skins, elephant and giraffe hairs and any other trophies or goods originating from the National Parks is strictly forbidden by Kenyan law. For shells, corals and other goods originating from the coral reefs a special exportation licence from the Ministry of Wildlife is necessary and we would strongly advise you not to buy any such products.
