LEISURE ACTIVITIES

TIPPING
The giving of gratuities is always at your own discretion and if you are particularly satisfied with the service you have received either at your hotel or whilst on safari, a tip will always be more than welcome. The following guidelines will assist if you are in any doubt:

Restaurants - 10% of the bill where service is not included.
Bars - A small tip may be given when drinks are served at a table in the lounge or beside the pool.
Porters - The equivalent of about 15 - 20p per case.
Safari and Excursion Drivers/Guides - The equivalent of about £2 per person per day.

EXCURSION DETAILS
(All prices are approximate and per person)

Mombasa Tour / City Tour (€15, approx £11)
Visit the local market, historical old town, Fort Jesus, the “Tusks” and the old dhow harbour.

Malindi/Watamu Tour (€45, approx £32)
Drive along the coastline to Watamu/Malindi with a visit to a snake and crocodile farm and a bird sanctuary. Visit the Gedi Ruins.

Bush Tour (€30, approx £22)
An interesting tour through the countryside of the true Africa, including lunch.

Bamburi Nature Trail (€16, approx £12, plus entrance fee KSH 600)
A man made Eden with hippos, giraffes, crocodiles, exotic birds and a butterfly farm amidst beautiful scenery.

Trip to the Old Port (€35, approx £25)
Sail along Tudor Creek to the old dhow harbour. Including lunch and soft drinks on board.

Follow the Dolphins (€25, approx £18)
With a little luck, the experience of a lifetime.

Blue Sunday (€35, approx £25)
Sail along the Kenya coast aboard our sailing boat M.S. Seepaert. You return to ASC’s private marina for a seafood lunch.

Creek Sundowner Cruise (€30, approx £22)
A romantic boat trip on Mtwapa creek. Enjoy dinner on board and be serenaded by the Safina singers.

Kilulu Seafood (€30, approx £22)
Romantic boat trip into the sunset and enjoy a seafood dinner at our Kasr al Bahar Hotel.

Sunday Barbecue (€15, approx £11)
Experience an early drink with Kanga model show, barbeque lunch and free soft drinks at the ASC Marina Village.

Club Party (€20, approx £14)
Relaxed get-together at ASC Marina Village on the creek with barbeque specialities, entertainment and music.

1001 Nights (€25, approx £18)
Oriental evening with specialities of the eastern world and belly dancers.

African Night (€30, approx £22)
A boat trip at sunset along the creek and then be entertained with African folklore and tribal dancers. Specialities from the grill in our “African Village”.

LOCAL EXCURSIONS
We offer a number of exciting daytime and evening excursions to give you a greater insight into Kenyan life and culture. Examples and guidelines on prices have been compiled to assist you in planning your holiday (see page 16) but your Tourist Officer in the resort has full details. Excursions can only be booked locally. Excursions and prices are managed by our office in Mombasa and are subject to change at any time. Prices are usually quoted locally in Euros for the benefit of all European nationalities.
