A good friendly hotel, very keen to please, nothing too much trouble. I had diet problems due to a medical condition which they catered for with no extra charge or any fuss, a great hotel very clean and very friendly. 
My wife and I would like to express our thanks for a wonderful time spent at the Dolphin Hotel, Shanzu Beach, Mombasa for two weeks ending 24/11/09. The accommodation was worthy of the 4 1/2 shields, well appointed, cool, clean and with a reasonably high standard of catering. Mark, (Catering Supervisor) deserves special recognition for spending time with clients and nothing was too much trouble for him.
The beach was maintained to the highest possible standards, with daily raking and burial of unwanted sea-weed. All staff were found to be pleasant and all things considered, we were delighted with our choice.
Being part of a group of three hotels in adjacency, food (and swimming pool) was found to be better at the Flamingo, with a better selection and slightly more variety.
For anyone considering a 2 week vacation in East Africa, we would not hesitate in recommending the Dolphin Hotel. We took a 3 day, 2 night safari (which was magical) taking in Tsavo East and Tsavo West. Both venues were spectacular and have given us unforgattable experiences. Downsides of East Africa (and Gambia to the West) are the Beach Boy traders who apply unrelenting pressure to separate you from your cash! - Just say no, and let them know you mean it!
In summary, best value for money holiday we've had in many years of worldwide travel.
Returned from the Dolphin hotel on 3rd October having had a wonderful two week there. The organisation was excellent starting with Sandra who booked the holiday for us. She answered the many questions I put to her in a friendly and helpful manner. When we arrived at the hotel the slight problems we had were very quickly resolved by excellent and helpful staff. Location was perfect our room overlooked the ocean and we did not get a single mossie in the room which was spotless. Alright the showers produced slightly salty water but that was no problem to us you just had to remember not to swallow any and water was provided each day to clean your teeth, etc.
Service in the restaurant was excellent, all food was covered on the buffet and most evenings we had restaurant service. Liked the fact we could use the other two adjoining hotels for meals, swimming and entertainment if we felt like a change.
Also there was a small town/village just outside the gates which enabled us to give business to the locals which we did most days so got to know the local people quite well.
All in all it was a wonderful holiday and good value for money and we hope to go back soon.
I feel I must write and let you know of our holiday at the Dolphin Hotel to which we have just returned on the 21st Aug 2009, firstly the hotel was great, the staff were absolutley great, from waiters to the room cleaners, they really look after the tourist, they are so friendly and very helpful, we could not find any fault at all with our holiday, from the moment we arrived at Manchester airport to Mombassa, and from Mombassa back to Manchester...
I would like to compliment everyone at African Safari Club. I have just returned from my second trip to the Dolphin Hotel in Kenya. I had an amazing time on both trips , loved the country ,and the hotel and staff were excellent. The Safari was the icing on the cake! The holiday was great value for money and i would fully recommend them to anyone and hope to return again soon!!!
Stayed at the Dolphin for two weeks in June 2009, had a relaxing break in the African sun.
The hotel room, overlooking the Indian ocean, was large, airy and clean.
The staff were very friendly and always tried to be helpful.
Food was fresh and plentiful.
The pool, next to the sea, was clean and the attendants were very attentive, there was no shortage of sun beds, mattresses and towels.
We had a great time, hope you do too.
We had an amazing time. Everything was fine with the hotel and the surroundings were fantastic. We had a perfect holiday. We will come to you again. Thank you.
We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Dolphin in Kenya. I am writing to say how impressed we are with your company. The organisation in the UK and Kenya was excellent. We were given accurate, precise and courteous information before our departure helped us be correctly organised.
Once at the hotel the staff and management team were excellent. Any slight problems we had were immediately dealt with and resolved. The staffs were helpful and efficient. The organisation of everything was timely and efficient. The location is wonderful.
We have already recommended you too many of our friends and will not fail to do so in the future. It is a pleasure to deal with a company that genuinely takes responsibility for the detail of your holiday from start to finish.
We have just returned home from a two week stay at the Dolphin Hotel. The hotel, staff, food, cleanliness, safari, excursions, flight and weather were excellent.
My partner and I were enraptured with Kenya. So much so we are now planning our next trip and incorporating our wedding at The Flamingo Hotel as well!!!!

We have just returned from two weeks holiday at the Dolphin Beach Hotel.
I can't say enough about how fantastic the staff were they couldn't do enough for us and bent over backwards for the children, the hotel was clean and the food was splendid. We had a fabulous time on safari and will almost certainly be returning very soon.
I would certainly recommend ASC to others.
Just returned from 'Secrets of the Seychelles'. Received at Mombasa well, transfer to cruise ship good, cruise ship very good, food, service etc.
Off to Dolphin hotel, Mombasa, excellent, no faults at all. Safari next, very well organised, fantastic value for money - get to see lots of wild life.
Overall an awesome trip - much cheaper than with any other company - well organised - excellent info from ASC if I needed to phone before hand and able to speak to REAL people.
