The efficiency of arrangements e.g. pick-up, transfers to activities etc was impressive. Service was, on the whole, friendly, polite and efficient. I would particularly praise Julian (waiter in main restaurant) and the young waiter at Leopard Lodge who spoke excellent English and who was impeccably trained. Our daughter is vegetarian and at the Leopard Lodge they went out of their way to cook something special. Once again can I thank you for a great short break and congratulate you on a good product.
In February of this year my wife and I booked to go on your “Out of Africa” safari holiday, and staying at the Flamingo Beach Hotel. When our tickets arrived you gave us the opportunity to upgrade our flight. We chose to upgrade to Economy Plus. The new tickets and luggage tags arrived promptly in due course.
When we arrived at Gatwick we were shown to our ticket desk by one of your supervisors and as we checked in there was a ‘problem’ straight away. The computer showed we had been upgrade again to Royal Safari Class! Thank you very much. It was very welcome and very much appreciated. We really enjoyed our flight out to Kenya, very comfortable, good food and very pleasant service.
The Flamingo Beach Hotel was very pleasant, the staff were very helpful, the rooms were clean and tidy and the food was very good as well. All in all it was very good, the facilities were generally excellent.
We had a nice trip into Mombasa with one of your local taxi drivers from the hotel. On day four of our holiday we made ready for our ‘Out of Africa’ Safari. We had a long arduous drive out to Tsavo East (There were African roadwork’s like you wouldn’t believe). But we made it in the end to the Sagala lodge for dinner. We entered the reserve in the early afternoon and there started what I can only as the best safari you could wish for. We had five German people in our vehicle with us and thankfully one of them could speak good English, I’m embarrassed to say I cannot speak any German. They were brilliant and over the next seven days we had plenty of laughs and made some nice friendships and some nice memories to keep.
I think we were a very lucky group, one of the animals we would have liked to have seen was leopard, alas it was not to be but we saw just about everything else; lions, elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, zebra, wildebeest.
The sights of the flamingos on Lake Nakuru is one I shall treasure for the rest of my life. All the lodges and camps we stayed at were very good. We were taken to see Rhino’s; I couldn’t believe how close we got to them especially on foot. Again, another wonderful memory.
Then we went to Twiga camp; well we have to say that place was brilliant. The whole concept was great, lowed the tents and their déécor, loved the setting and loved all the birds and animals on the camp and in the surrounding pools and bush. The staff were excellent and the food was great, well cooked and served by some very pleasant lads. Everywhere there was something of interest going on. Just brilliant. Again we were very lucky, we were able to see Mt Kilimanjaro for all of the time we were at Twiga camp. We had seen it on TV but now we were there.
The aircraft that flew us around Kenya was excellent, on time every time. They were good fun, and we were blessed with clear skies, so we had some good Ariel views of the countryside. Great organisation!
When we arrived back at the hotel everything was well organised and we were in our new rooms within minutes. Again it was very comfortable and clean. The rest of the holiday was very good and a lot less hectic.
Thank you very much for a brilliant holiday. Thanks to all the staff in Kenya who worked very hard to provide us with such a great holiday.
Having recently returned from a 17 day holiday at The Flamingo including a 3 day safari to Kilimanjaro/Kimana Lodge I can thoroughly recommend it. The staff are charming and the Kenyan people, although have very little are so happy. Thanks to a very patient Anna at the Barracuda Dive Centre, I obtained my PADI Open Water and took part in two amazing dives. The safari was all I expected and more again. The lodge we stayed in was basic but very very clean and the animals fabulous. The highlight being the cheetah!!
We returned home yesterday night following a wholly enjoyable and relaxing vacation at Flamingo Beach. Our thanks to you for the excellent value we received.
We were able to include three days at Kaloleni (some 40kms from Mombasa) where a working party from St Clement, Jersey spent part of July/August this year doing major renovation at St Luke’s Hospital which serves some 250,000 people. Personally, as much of my consultation work is marine orientated, I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised at the excellent state if maintenance of the two ASC vessels we travelled on. One being a catamaran (the Sundowner cruise in Mtwapa Creek), the other, the visit to the Old Port from Mtwapa to Mombasa on board the Guernsey registered 1946 motor/sailer Seapaert. The German skipper of the latter was both competent and experienced and also a good host on what is a remarkable vessel.
We look forward to travelling with ASC again. The recent change to Monarch is in my view a very wise one and the Monarch A380 aircraft is excellent, as is the food and the cabin service.
We recently got married in your Flamingo Beach resort in Kenya. We would both like to thank you for a wonderful day and stay at your lovely hotel.
Please could you pass our thanks on to Mark Dieler, the manager of the hotel. He made our wedding and holiday one to remember. As well as your many staff at your hotel. We made a great deal of friends on our holiday and all had a wonderful time. Thank you again. We plan to return in the future and hope that our time will be as pleasurable.
Where do I begin, This was truly the best holiday we have ever had. We have never been to Kenya before and cannot wait to go back again. The hotel was great clean and tidy, the gardens were lovely and well maintained by the dedicated garderners. The Safari was fantastic and we got to see all the animals we expected to see and MORE!! Now to the main point the staff. They were fantastic very very friendly making us feel welcome and making sure we were happy and enjoying our holiday. Thank you once again for a great holiday and we cannot wait to go back using Africa Safari Club.
My husband and I have just returned from a two week holiday and had an excellent time. The rooms could do with a bit of updating but were more than adequate and clean.
The restaurants were very good and the staff very friendly.
