Client Testimonials: July through September 2005

We have been to Kenya twice with your company. Once staying at the Paradise beach and once at the Dolphin for a wedding, our friends were getting married at the Flamingo. We have also been on your Safaris. Other friends of ours who we recommended you too have stayed at the Flamingo and also had a wonderful cruise.
I want to say that we have had wonderful times. The rooms I know are quite basic but wonderfully clean. The staff cannot do enough for you. If you ask for something it is there instantly, which is more than can be said for most hotels.
My friends wedding at the Flamingo was fabulous, the Management and staff could not do enough for them. It was a wonderful time.
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Kenya. While the safari and accomodation were both excellent, it was the wondeful welcome and service we received from all the staff, especially at the Seahorse Hotel in Kilifi that really made it special.
This was a fantastic holiday. The staff at our hotel - Watamu Beach - were very friendly and welcoming, the food was good and service excellent.
What impressed us most, however, was the slick organisation of our safari: in four days we saw an amazing variety of wildlife in two very different environments. This, along with our safari accommodation and air travel between camps, was a very special experience and one which I would thoroughly recommend.
Just returned from 'Secrets of the Seychelles'. Received at Mombasa well, transfer to cruise ship good, cruise ship very good, food, service etc.
Off to Dolphin hotel, Mombasa, excellent, no faults at all. Safari next, very well organised, fantastic value for money - get to see lots of wild life.

Overall an awesome trip - much cheaper than with any other company - well organised - excellent info from ASC if I needed to phone before hand and able to speak to REAL people.
I would like to write and say what a lovely time we had on the Royal Star. We went on the Magic of Mauritius holiday on 23rd July. We had a fantastic time, the boat and staff were excellent. The service and food were of an exceptionally high standard. The Ports of call were varied and interesting.
The safari was fantastic both in content and accommodation, it was a marvellous experience.
Big ship cruising - no! no!!
Boarding the Royal Star at Mahe for the second trip on her, in February, was just like coming home!
Cabin on the same deck, familiar faces amongst the stewards,a right Royal welcome from Allen, the maitre d', and the lovely Philipino hairdresser, made me feel as though I belonged to a lovely cosmopolitan community.

Friends were made and we keep in touch, while I swear we saw the same lemurs on Nose Komba. I will be back for a third cruise - dunno when but it will happen.
We and our friends enjoyed the most magical cruise in which we were celebrating our 25th wedding.
It was romantic, exciting. adventurious, relaxing stimulating and now i have run out of adjectives and verbs, food, ambience, service, destinations, entertainment and the boat was to die for.
I would recommend this cruise to anyone, and I am trying to find time to try an alternative cruise.
As an ex travel agent of 30 years having travelled all over the World staying in every type of hotel I was a bit concerned to read the negative comments made about the African Safari Club. Having just returned on Saturday I detail below my lengthy observations.

We boarded the aircraft at Gatwick and found the aircraft, staff and food quite acceptable for the long journey-we were booked in basic economy. The flight arrived on time and we were through passport control and customs in no time. We had applied for our visa in advance but found most people were whisked through pretty quickly with or without their visa. Our journey from the airport to the Dolphin Hotel took about 30 minutes.

On arrival we were escorted to our standard room, ground floor with a good sea view. Very clean, adequate air conditioned room with mosquito nets. Our air conditioning was replaced midway through the holiday and was lovely and ice cool! Only problem I felt was the lack of a radio or tv in the room but to be honest we were very rarely in our room.

People had said previously that the food left a lot to be desired but I can honestly say we loved every meal served up to us. At breakfast there was a chef there to cook your eggs any way you wanted in front of your eyes. At lunchtime you always had a varied choice buffet and again a chef who cooked fresh pasta again in front of your eyes. At dinner you had a superb choice of meals which you choose off the menu and served up by an excellent team of waiters/waitresses.

Other past moans seem to relate to the cost of bottled water but to be honest I thoughty 70p for a bottle of cold water delivered to your table was excellent value. A good range of wine was on offer starting about £11-white wine was always served up in an ice bucket.

I did not attend the welcome meeting on our first day and can honestly report never once was I put under pressure to book any tours or excursions within the hotel. Evening entertainment was adequate and varied, albeit repeated the second week. During our 2 week stay which included the Masai Mara trip both my wife and I only had 2 mossie bites each so, as long as you take precautions, the bites should be few and far between.

The beach was lovely although you will be pestered by the beach boys if you wander outside the private part of the beach. Sunbeds were good which cost you 1.5 euros per person per day. Often visited the Flaming Hotel next door which is beautiful and spoke to a few residents there who were more than happy. In the Dolphin Hotel the Manager and his assistant were always around and we found them very approachable and would do their utmost to help if you had a problem.

We did do 2 separate days deep sea fishing and found that the prices and quality of boats are second to none. Prices were about half the price of the equivelent in Florida and you are only 15 mins away from the fishing grounds. The Captain picked us up by car from our hotel before and delivered us back afterwards. Also free soft drinks are supplied onboard. Please contact me if anyone going requires further info.
A room safe is available for the cost of approx. 33 euros for the 2 weeks.

All in all my wife and I were thoroughly delighted with the Dolphin Hotel and African Safari Club. Value for money, I believe is second to none. Anyone disagree then you will find similar holidays will cost a helluva lot more with other tour companies.

We will go back to Kenya again and it will be with the African Safari Club!
We got married at the Flamingo Beach Hotel. We had Masai dancers and what a stunning setting. We had an absolutely stunning 3 weeks, including a magical week on safari. What an experience. Once in a lifetime for my wife and I.

The hotel was lovely, the pool stunning and the staff brilliant - helpful, friendly always smiling. Food was very good and the drinks not expensive.
If you leave the hotel or go to the beach you will get accosted by the locals to buy things. If you say no thanks they are fine. Just be polite and look. Barter hard though and you'll get bargains. We know we did.
We will look forward to a return visit in a couple of years. Possibly for our 5th Anniversary.
