Wedding Requirements

Much like weddings in the United Kingdom, certain documentation is required to enable the ceremony to be performed in Kenya.

Weddings in Kenya
  • Birth Certificate
  • Passport
  • Single parties must have a letter stating neither has been married, signed by a UK Minister of the Church, or a sworn affidavit witnessed by a solicitor
  • If under 21 years, sworn affidavit by parents / guardians
  • If divorced, proof of Decree Absolute
  • If widowed, relevant Death Certificate
  • If change of name by Deed Poll, proof required
  • Full information of each party: Full names of couple, full address and proof of residence (i.e driving licence), occupation of both parties
  • Full names, addresses and profession of bride / groom's parents
